O Captain! My Captain!
What was odd with Robin Williams, it almost felt like losing an uncle….
I grew up watching him, as small child I remember me and my father sitting down watching the Comic Relief specials on HBO. Watching Mork and Mindy every week, I love his movies. Good Morning Vietnam, The Survivors, The Best of Times. Even more of his dramatic roles like The Dead Poets Society, The Awakening with Robert De Niro is one of my favorite movies.
Its odd the last time I felt like this was when I found out John Candy had died. It’s definitely feeling like an uncle just passed away because we grew up with him. If I saw him on TV flipping through channels I would stop and watch. Cuz its Robin, you never know what he was going to do. He was so random and sporadic, just watching him was just a joy.. He can make you laugh, he can make you cry, he make you do both which is really confusing to your system. The man was so full of talent and its so sad to see him go out like this.
Its so weird reading some of the articles about Robin’s death. Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg tweeted they have no words. I think everyone is just in shock. Think the world lost one of its brighter candles and I don’t think anyone can replace him. I don’t think anyone wants to replace him.
I guess in a way he isn’t really gone. Because we have all his movies, stand up shows. Hours and hours of laughter that he left behind for us. And for that I think we should be very grateful.
So we went to the store the other night. Then I happen to look in the parking spot behind us and saw this….
Really? It looked like a early 90’s Mazda haha. Couldn’t really tell do to the icons being ripped off. There were no “upgrades” of any kind. Just a car… I just hope it was done with irony in mind haha. But knowing the area I’m in, it’s most likely not. Let alone knowing what “irony” means ;). I still think the best one so far that I’ve seen. Is this 5 ft ginger with baggy pants that are WAY to big for him. Having to hold them with one hand, Also wearing Raiders jersey that said “Player 69” on the back. Of course he was wearing a hat with all the stickers still attached to it. Best of all…. He steps out of a mini-van that his MOM was driving. Need I say more?
