Star Trek Book Challenge 45: Triangle (Star Trek: The Original Series #9)

77324A dark plan has been unleashed in the galaxy, a design so vast, only a collective — and ruthless — mindlike the Totality could have conceived it. Now Captain Kirk must battle the seductive force of the Totality’s will. It was reasonable that Captian Kirk and Federation Free Agent Sola Than would fall in love. But no reasoning the the universe could have foreseen the tragedy of Spock’s own passion for the same woman. Now this unimaginable conflict could cost Captain Kirk his very soul, and bring death to the proud Vulcan. But in the unimaginable lies their only chance, and the freedom of the galaxy depends on the outcome of the…Triangle.

Triangle (Star Trek: The Original Series #9) by Sondra Marshak, Myrna Culbreath…. I always worry when there is more than one author on a book. Mostly when it comes to Star Trek novels….

The over all book is good… The Trek philosophy in the plot is over all not bad. Some of the other characters get you thinking, sadly it’s not enough to save the book. When you first read the summery you think it’s going to be a Spock and Kirk adventure.. Not so much.. You have one character that was made just for this book. Not that it’s a bad thing, it just become the main focus point in the whole book. This making a weak story line and it had trouble keeping my interests.

I mean this book was well written and had a good pace for what it was. The authors had a good knowledge of the series and character histories. I’ve read worst books while doing this challenge and this one is okay… I say give it a read and enjoy the development between Spock and Kirk, it’s rather funny at times.
