So I was reading post entitled “George Lucas Finally Reveals Why He Broke Up With Star Wars”…. It seems he still upset or has become upset that Disney is going the direction they are going. I think a lot of it started when Disney throw out any ideas Lucas had penned out for the next trilogy and go their own way. In the long run, I’m glad they did… Now I have a love and HATE relationship with Eps1-3.. There were a few wining moments in the EP 1.. BUT that couldn’t save the film, EP 2 I rather enjoyed and can watch it over & over again. Now EP 3 I really liked, but I found myself becoming REALLY annoyed with all the CGI work. Does everything have to be CGI? Did you really need to make the Clone Trooper CG while talking with Natalie Portman? NO! It’s crazy that there were little to no REAL effects. I think that’s my biggest problem with the movies, well there are a few more. But that not important now.

ANYWHO! So Lucas went on to say this in the interview with CBS This Morning:

The issue was, ultimately, they looked at the stories and they said, ‘We want to make something for the fans.’ People don’t actually realize it’s actually a soap opera and it’s all about family problems – it’s not about spaceships. So they decided they didn’t want to use those stories, they decided they were going to do their own thing so I decided, ‘Fine…. I’ll go my way, and I let them go their way.’

Lucas always felt that Star Wars was his, and that therefore he could do whatever  he wanted to it. Begin the constant modifications to the original films. There’s another argument is that once art is created, it belongs to the people. There are fans who are still upset they can’t get a Blu-Ray of an unaltered trilogy. But I would say this. At least Lucas is stepping away and letting someone else take over. But what I find sad is the way he is acting, it’s still his baby. At least sit in and watch everything going on! at least throw some money at it and watch other people work their magic. I don’t know. Oh well… I have my tickets already for the new Star Wars and can’t wait till the 17th!!!
