… Fat Shaming… It’s A Thing

“Fat-shaming is not a thing. Fat people made that up. That’s the race card, with no race.” – Nicole Arbour

So with the buzz going around the interwebs about this Nicole Arbour video called “Dear Fat People…”. By the name alone you kinda get an idea on where this is going haha. You can’t find this video on YouTube anymore, they took that down. In fact YouTube took down Nicole Arbour whole channel & her website is gone as well. Sadly you can see more of her videos on Facebook/Twitter as well as “Dear Fat People…”. I watched the video and was in total bewilderment on what I just saw…. She tries to be funny… It’s not even trying really… It’s the train wreck type of thing, where someone thinks that they are funny. But aren’t.. But they continue anyways and fail on every level. The “Dear Fat People…” was upsetting, more annoying than anything else really. But way beyond called for. I’ve watched some of the other videos that she had made. Again,  bewilderment….

This girl really has no talent. I mean if you go to her Wiki page it lists off her Dance and Cheerleading career. Lack of music career. I mean the whole thing reads like what we call in the comic world; “A One Shot”. Now let me state that my “internet career” isn’t anything magical as well. But I stick to what I know: Blogging, Podcasts, Gaming! I have a normal job, I have to save up to go to conventions or events. I rarely get a free pass invites events, etc. You know what? That is fine really. I thankful for what I have and where I’m at and the people who I know/work with on a everyday basis.

Anywho, that’s off topic…. But this video is way beyond anything of rational thought. She goes on to promote Fat Shaming. Stating that we should Fat Shame people into losing weight.. That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works!

“Fat-shaming is not a thing. Fat people made that up. That’s the race card, with no race.”

“If [I] offend you so much that you lose weight, I’m OK with that, You are killing yourself.”

“What are you gonna do, fat people? Are you gonna chase me?”

You know… It’s a rare thing for me to jump on the internet train when people are upset about some like this. I’m not one you get into the middle of internet/YouTube drama. But this hit a cored with myself. I as a kid and as an adult, have had this never ending battle with weight. In middle school and freshmen year high school I was at 300 lbs. At the end of high school in to college years I got down to 160! Then 185 and that is normal for my size, being 6’2. But over the past few years I’ve been going between 185 to 290. I’m at 260 right now. I know in my younger years the weight was a hard topic for me and was vary embarrassed about how I looked and was made fun of. But now a days I really don’t care what people think, most of the time. I find myself wanting to lose weight, not for other people. But for healthy reasons. Oh sure I have my vices and a lot of people do! And that is okay! I’m sure my guilty pleasures aren’t going to go away anytime soon. HAHA Just some nights you just want M&M’s!

But this whole things is blown up and people like boogie2988 or Meghan Tonjes have made a response video to this “Dear Fat People…”. It’s nice to see the other side of the coin and people react in the appropriate matter. Here are the videos below:

Anyways. There is my two cents. I’m happy with who I am and how I look. If that bothers people, then I think they need to take a look into a mirror at them self’s. Because people like this Nicole Arbour state that they are doing for a laugh, it’s all a joke. It’s really not.. No tact what so ever….

Please feel free to comment below and share your story or thoughts on this issues!! I would really like hear them..

Blizzard confirmed that patch 2.2.0 for Diablo III will bring new item sets to the game. New sets are Wrath of the Wastes and Unhallowed Essence, Delsere’s Magnum Opus.

Devs have hinted that four of the existing item sets will also receive an update in the patch. But Blizzard didn’t mention the names of said four items.

“Tyvalir: The new sets – including Delsere’s Magnum Opus, Wrath of the Wastes and Unhallowed Essence – are currently planned to arrive in patch 2.2.0, along with updates to existing 4 piece sets. While this could change depending on a variety of factors, and while we don’t have a date to announce yet for that patch, the plan is for all of these to arrive at around the same time.

First Look: Season 2

Season 1 has been a great opportunity for us to introduce new gameplay mechanics to Diablo III, and we explored adding new challenges and content for you to tackle. We learned a lot from our first Season, and today, we’ve got some details on our next Season to share that reflect on those lessons.

New Season, New Stuff!

As we mentioned when we first introduced Seasons, plenty of new items and rewards are coming with Season 2. But that’s not all! Patch 2.1.2 will introduce new features that will certainly have an impact on your Seasonal experience.

For now, let’s focus on what the Season itself is introducing and go over what you can expect from the first day of Season 2.

New Seasonal Legendaries

As we announced with our very first Season preview, we’ll be introducing several new Legendary items with each Season. What would a Season preview be without a look at of a few of these upcoming goodies?

Just a few examples of upcoming Seasonal Legendaries!

Note that some of the new items we’re implementing are previously-existing Legendary items that lacked powerful, game changing affixes. As we add affixes to them and they become Seasonal Legendaries, these items will no longer drop in non-Seasonal games. Once the Season ends, these items will roll over to the regular loot pool for all game types, complete with their shiny new Legendary affix!”

Blizzard have yet to announce a release date for the patch… But updates to the item sets will take place at the same time. The possibility of the patch may not be released in Season 2 is rather high. The season 1 of Diablo III will come to an end on February 3rd. But like most gaming updates, this might get pushed back.

I also posted a new game play video earlier today. It’s an older video and meant to posted it earlier. But with holidays & being sick for the past couple of weeks a lot of things were pushed back 😦 Even some of the podcast were missed or pushed but because of this. HATE the flu! Anywho, enjoy the video!!

LYRICS HERE:
Get nerdy wit me…
Tell me what game that you get on, is it COD or EVE?
What kind of class do you play girl, in an RPG?
Cuz I know what them elf girls need, from WOW to M.E. (Middle Earth)
Im goin 30 hours online straight now…
You make it hard to leave

HOOK
Been to Middle Earth, do you speak my language?
Your elf ears don’t need explainin
All I really need for you to do is…just … please
Talk nerdy to me

Get nerdy wit me
You name all twelve of the Docs, I can’t resist that
And what’s the core in your wand? I think that ours match
Cuz I know, with me, you’d get sort, Durmstrang to Hogwarts
Im pretty sure, on me, you’ve cast a curse girl, the imperius one?

HOOK
Been to comic-con, hope you speak my language
Your Harley Quinn don’t need explainin
All I really need for you to do is…just … please
Talk nerdy to me

Bridge:
Uno, met a girl at E3
Dos, she wanted all my XP
Tres, My 64 makes her want me
Cuatro, Oooohhhhhh (vocal run)

(back ground shout: “One Ring!”)

Rap Verse:
Up, up, down, down, forward, back, A, B
You don’t need a cheat code, girl to get with me
Just add my clan tag, bring your high K/D,
Cuz the headshots we’ll be makin will be toppin the team
Or Magic the gatherin, Deck on Deck,
You like Twilight? Ya, I aint touchin your neck
I got nerd friends, but they’re friends with respect
I can call up Iron Man without breakin a sweat!

And I wanna hear your issues, ya, Im talking about your comics,
Cuz the fact of the matter, aint no girl badder than a girl that talks on electronics,
And for us to get along just tell me Lucas got it wrong,
Cuz clearly in Star Wars the first shot was made by Han. (Snap!)

HOOK
Love the Enterprise, now I speak the language
Your warp drive don’t need explainin
All I really need for you to do is…just … please
Talk nerdy to me

HUGE thanks to everyone who helped! Couldn’t have done this without you. We recorded this in my room, then took several days, spread out over a month, to shoot all the footage. Thanks to the dancers for choreographing that chorus bit on their own!

A lot of these costumes were custom done by their owners, thanks to them for being in the video! Also, a big thanks to Hale Center Theater Orem for providing me a couple of their costumes to rent.

Also, a shout-out to ScreenSpiffer for supporting us on this. You can check them out at http://www.screenspiffer.com.
