This year marks the 40th anniversary of the popular science-fiction adventure television series Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, and the Rogue Valley residents are set to celebrate the occasion with nobody but Buck himself. Actor Gil Gerard, who portrayed the title character, will be making a rare Oregon appearance at Meadowlark Comic Con on May 11th, at Ramada Medford Hotel and Convention Center. Gerard will be joined by Felix Silla who was responsible for the physical performance of the robot Twiki. Felix Silla is also known for playing Cousin Itt on The Addams Family and one of the Ewoks in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.
Star Wars fans will also be able to meet Richard Oldfield who appeared as Rebel fighter pilot Hobbie Klivian (Rogue 4) in The Empire Strikes Back and delivered the line to Carrie Fisher “Two fighters against a Star Destroyer?” An American actor, Richard Oldfield has been living and working in the UK since the 1960s, and his Meadowlark Comic Con appearance is a rare chance for Oregon fans to meet one of the original trilogy Star Wars actors.
